Tour Overview
Explore the interesting facts of Owenke People and the two mysterious tribes of Mongolian - Golden Horde and Baerhu, travel in the beautiful Hulunbeir Grassland and through the virgin forest, climb up the famous volcanic mountains in the world, and enjoy a different summer experice in the "icy city" - Harbin.

Day 1 Beijing/Hailaer (L, D)
Meet your guide at the train station and check into the hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Remarks: If you start your trip from Beijing, you are recommended to take the trains No. K274/k275/k277 or No. 1301 to Hailaer. The trains respectively depart at 09:04/10:03 and reach Hailaer at about 12:08/16:17 of the next day.

Day 2 Hailaer (B, L, D)
Morning visit the Owenke People's Museum, the Beishan ruins of the Janpanese army' underground stronghold and the Xishan Hailaer National Forest Park. After lunch transfer to visit the site of the Mongolian Golden Horde and the beautiful Morigele River.

-The site of the Mongolian Golden Horde is a worldfamous natural pasture in the Hulunbeir Grassland. In acient China, many northern hordes once multiplied and lived here. From the late years of 12 Century to the early years of 13 Century, Genghis Khan rallied his troops here to defeat other hordes. He finally controlled the whole grassland. Today, the layout of the site is considered as the epitome of the Genghis Khan's Xanadu. And it has become the famous shooting location of the teleplay/film groups from all over the world.
                                              
Day 3 Hailaer/Aershan (B, L, D)
Morning drive through the beautiful summer Hulunbeir Grassland, en route make a stop-over to vist the Ganzhuer Temple (Ganzhuer Lamasery).  Upon arriving in Aershan City, visit the Aershan Spring Museum.                                 

Day 4 Aershan (B, L, D)
Monring dirve (74km, about 1 hour) to the beautiful Aershan National Forest Park, where you will have an opportunity to drink the natural mineral water from the famous Wulinquan Springs. Then proceed to Shitanglin (84 km, about 1 hour-drive) - a forest in the park with many natural wonders and special volcanic landform. Continue to visit the Cuckoo Lake (92 km, about 1.5 hour-drive). Have lunch and then climb up to the Camel Peak (1284m above sea level) to view the barrier lake formed in a crater. The lake is known as one of the six biggest heavenly lakes in China. It is listed on the protection catalogue of the UNESCO. Also from the Camel Peak, you can view various breathtaking landforms of the volcanic cluster.  Transfer to visit the beautiful Three Pond Gorge (Santanxia) and then drive back to Aershan City              

Day 5 Aershan/Manchuli (B, L, D)
Morning drive to Manchuli (aka Manzhouli). On the way we can enjoy very stunning scenery along the Daxinganling primitive forest and the Hulunbeir Grassland. We will stop over en route to pay a visit to a Mongolian tribe's museum - Baerhu Museum.

Day 6 Manzhouli/Harbin (B, L, D)
After breakfast drive to visit the China-Russia Border Scenic Area, where we will ascend the gateway to have a bird's eyeview of the beautiful Russian Town - Zabaikalsky, visit the Ruin of Secret Traffic Line of the Chinese Communist Party, the No. 41 Boundary Tablet, the locomotive of Chairman Mao's (Mao Ze Dong) special train, and the MiG-15 Flight once used in the Korean War (1950 -1953). Later dirve about 50 minutes to visit the beautiful Hulun Lake. Drive back to Manzhouli. After dinner be escorted to the train station for the overnight train (12-13 hrs) to Harbin.
  
Day 7 Harbin (B, L, D)
Be met and picked up to have breakfast. Then tour the Stalin Park and the beautiful Sun Island. After lunch proceed to the Siberian Tiger Park, where you will be caged in a specially protected bus to see the tigers.

Day 8 Harbin (B, L, D)
Morning drive to (23 km) the Harbin Jinyuan Cultural Tourist Area, where was the capital of Jin dynasty from 1115 to 1234, is a sole well-preserved site of capital of Jin dynasty. Later drive back to Harbin City and pay a visit to the St. Sophia Church and the Central Street.

Day 9 Harbin/Beijing (B)
After breakfast be escorted to the airport for the flight to Beijing.
