Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park - Tianmen Cave

In 263 A.D, the cliff of the mountian (Songliang Mountain) was suddenly broken and created a cave (it looks more like a gate towards the heaven for the locals, hence they renamed the mountain: Tianmenshan, lit. Heaven Gate Mountain). Tianmen Cave runs south-northward with a height of 131.5 meters, a width of 57meters and a depth of 60 meters. The cave attracted visitors and was much appreciated by emperors, officials, sages, hermits, dignitaries and men of letters of different dynasties. In 1999, the masters of international stunt flying piloted the planes to fly through Tianmen Cave and 800 million audiences watched the live telecast. On March 17-19,2006, “The 2006 Russia Air Force Aerobatics Performance ” was held in the Tianmen Mountain, the Soviet-27 heavy battle planes and Russia air force warriors composed another world-shaking legend.
