Horse racing, the highlight of Hong Kong, is the most popular attraction that attracts millions of visitors every year. The Happy Valley Racecourse Hong Kong is located at the low-lying area located between Wan Chai and Causeway Bay. It was built in 1845 on a swampland and the first horse-racing was held there in 1846. From that time on, horse racing become popular in Hong Kong day by day and now Hong Kong is recognized internationally as a racing venue and is favorite spectator sport among Hong Kong residents, many of whom like to have a flutter on the horses.
Happy Valley venue which can accommodate up to 35000 race-goers has advanced tracks, giant computer screens and other modern facilities. Needless to say, spectators are reminded that it is forbidden to use flash photography as this has an adverse effect on the horses and their performance.
With dazzling lights, electric atmosphere and bustle of a huge crowd, visitors can experience the essence of horse racing culture in Hong Kong on the platform.
